Happy National Cat Day!

At MHS, we care for tens of thousands of cats a year through our adoption and veterinary centers. Caring for cats is a unique challenge, and we’ve come up with many new ways to improve the way we care for cats – increasing both the quantity of cats we can save and the quality of life they will have.

What are some of the ways we’ve shown our love for cats this year?

We worked with foster homes and the community to help us get through “kitten season.”

We encouraged our readers to share their love for cats in blogs like this “Ode to Cleo, Harvey and Apollo.”

We gave away 2,000 free feline microchips to help more cats find their way home if they are ever lost.

We expanded options for feral or unfriendly cats with programs like Trap, Neuter, Return; Community Cats; and Hard-Working Cats.

We found more homes for adoptable cats through promotions like Cat Independence Days and Certified Pre-Owned Cats.

We produced the hit new TV show, Cat Tank!

We told you how to make a cat smile!

If you don’t have a feline friend to celebrate National Cat Day with, or if you have room for one (or two!) more… check out our adoptable cats today!
